Our client is a global 3rd party provider who seeks an experienced and well polished Distribution Centre Manager. This role represents a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and incisive Distribution Centre Manager with a track record of change squeezing operational efficiencies out of an extremely fast paced environment.
Being the leader of high performing operations team, the role is tasked with the effective operational and financial management of the distribution centre, ensuring efficient and effective service to their customers.
The initial year will involve with scoping, planning and overseeing the build of an entirely new Distribution Centre – this involves recruitment and training new staff, and then transitioning and managing some existing staff. Essential to the role is the ability to implement cultural change so that the new DC operates as efficiently and effectively as is possible.
The role will include implementation of a state of the art picking environment, developing new process and procedures and finally moving stock from the existing DC network to the new facility. This will be a multi-user facility, so an understanding of various operational models across different customer requirements is accepted.
The role is focused on consistently maintaining quality standards and outstanding customer service. Ideally, you will have solid experience in warehousing, operations or distribution centre management with a background in retail, grocery, FMCG or food distribution.
You will be deadline driven and focused on performance and results. You must also be able to demonstrate key result areas in previous roles. This is an extremely fast paced environment and the ideal candidate will be able to work well with demanding customers and a large multi-shift workforce.
A continual commitment to OH&S, process improvement and industrial relations is also essential.
