Our client who are continuing to experience growth, even in the face of tough times within the economy for industries across the board, are now seeking applications from motivated, qualified and enthusiastic professionals with experience in structural engineering and looking to live, or currently based in Nelson.
This role would require a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering,
- A minimum of 3 - 4 years in a consulting environment
- A solid background in the design of commercial structures (reinforced concrete, steel and timber detailing).
- Knowledge of structural analysis software
- Design experience of basements and foundations
- Experience of relevant engineering codes, standards and practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical report writing
Your role will include a range of responsibilities such as; Preparation of calculations required for the design of engineering projects, detailed designs and documentation for the implementation of medium to large sized engineering projects, assist in the analysis of technical information, supervision of graduates and draughting staff, reparation of specifications, proposals and other tender documentation and undertake site inspections and associated reporting, Liaison with clients, sub-consultants, contractors.
